“I want to eat less meat in the new year” or “I want to have a healthier diet” are popular resolutions that are made at the turn of the year. This is exactly where the non-profit organization Veganuary, founded 2014 in England, comes in. Veganuary is made up of the words vegan and January, so it means nothing else than vegan January. And that is what they try to inspire people to do. 31 days of cruelty-free nutrition. For the animals. For the environment. And for your own health.
The movement is growing year after year and has prominent support. These range from Germany’s leading YouTubers, such as Rezo or Mirella Precek (Mirrelativegal), to Golden Globe, Oscar and Grammy winners from Hollywood. Die hard (haha!) vegans like Joaquin Phoenix and Alicia Silverstone or long-term vegetarian and ex-Beatle Paul McCartney for example give their voice to the NGO.
Would you like to take part in Veganuary this year and eat a vegan diet? Excellent! We have selected 11 simple yet tasty vegan recipes for Veganuary that will help you to do so. Here is the diverse selection, from breakfast and spreads to pasta, burgers and curry to sweets:
