Today we present you our super easy recipe how to make your own vegan chili cheese burgers. The preparation takes less than 30 minutes and is perfectly suited for when you are craving some fast food. Some of you might know this kind of burger from Burger King or McDonald’s. Vital for a good chili cheese burger is the sauce, a spicy and creamy chili cheese sauce. This sauce can be prepared easily based on the recipe for the vegan mac and cheese sauce. Basically you only need about 8 to 12 tablespoons of the sauce for the burgers, but you can serve the rest as a cheese dip for nachos or eat it with some noodles mac and cheese style.
CHILI CHEESE BURGERS (VEGAN)
Ingredients for 4 chili cheese burgers (about 1,75 Euros each):
- 4 burger buns
- 4 burger patties
- 4 slices of vegan cheese
- vegan cheese sauce
- 1 red chilli pepper
- pickled green jalapeño slices
- some vegetable oil
Preparation
1. Cook the vegan cheese sauce according to this recipe. When seasoning, add a little more paprika powder (smoked paprika powder tastes best) than you would usually do. Deseed the chilli pepper, dice it finely and add to the sauce.
2. Fry the burger patties with some vegetable oil from one side in a large frying pan. Flip the patties, top with a slice of cheese each and fry from the other side until done. If you want to melt the cheese even more, cover the pan with a lid.
3. Halve the burger buns and warm them in the oven or in a pan. Now spread 1 tbsp of cheese sauce onto each bottom half. Top with a burger patty. Add another 1-2 tbsp of chili cheese sauce, a couple of jalapeño slices and top with the other half of the burger buns. So simple, so tasty.
